Ever thought about why do people travel? What drives them to leave their comfort zone and travel all
across to a distinct place? What people seek out of travelling?
According to me, one always has a quest to consciously deepen the insights about life. To understand
world as it is but through the intimate journey of himself. That’s how travelling works as an escape from
frantic world and takes us on the indomitable path of spirituality. Hence, travelling is not just about
visiting places but an overwhelming experience to connect to the unknown supremacy- the spiritual
connect. And how does it help us? Well, the journey makes us realize the purpose of our life. Just like
when Gautama Buddha was travelling to places in search of answers and got enlighten under the Bodh
vriksha in Bodh Gaya, Bihar.
Some people decide to go on a spiritual journey in order to pose themselves profound questions about
their life. Spirituality casts no caste tolerances, no religion bounds and is all about wellness along with
awakening of one’s mind and soul. As Eric Roth, screenwriter of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
wrote: “For what it’s worth, it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be.”
Nobody grows up as a spiritual hippie, its places that make him one. The journey takes him towards
Buddhism, sobriety and meditating tantra.
People such as Lady Gaga, Steve Jobs, Julia Roberts and the world renowned band The Beatles have
talked how spirituality changed their lives. The divine phenomenon of chant, pray and celebrate helped
them to get rid from depression and anxiety. It thoroughly changed their life. Richard Alpert once said
“The spiritual journey is highly individual and personal. It can’t be organized or regulated. Follow your
own path.”
There are so many spiritual places all around the world, be it Hrishikesh in India, energy vortexes of
Sedona or Chakra Centre in Tibet. Such Places makes us realize that travelling is nothing without
spirituality- a thoroughfare of incorporeal nothingness is what we need. Top destination for spirituality
are India, Adam’s Peak, Sri Lanka, Mount Shasta, California, Himalayan ranges, Angkor Wat, Cambodia,
Ubud, Bali and many more. These places have range of yoga retreats, meditation centers and soothing
nature. These things play a vital role in mindfulness and connection to divine.
A trip to these places to see the surrounding temples, completing yoga retreat, and enjoying some fresh,
healthy food might be just what you need to have the perfect spiritual experience.
